Position Overview & Key Responsibilities:
The Surface Support Equipment Driver provides a vital service to the surface team and is responsible for site works and maintenance whilst working with other teams, such as mining, maintenance, exploration, and processing.
The Surface Operator is tasked with the daily operation of TCM’s facilities including regular operation of equipment, transporting water to holding tanks, and other tasks that will be assigned.

Perform tasks in which the majority of work will be performed in a physically demanding environment, which includes working outdoors in all types of weather conditions!
Active involvement in and enforcement of all TCM safe work practices
Promote a healthy and safe environment for yourself and others.
Provide regular timely reporting to the Employee’s immediate Supervisor as directed.
Operate heavy, motorized equipment used in earth moving operations, including, but not limited to dozers, loaders, backhoes, blades, track hoes, and other equipment to support a variety of operations.
Operate water trucks and similar equipment for dust control and dirt compaction.
Operate a variety of equipment to the standards described in the relevant Safe Operating Standards (SOP) including (loader, articulate truck, dozer, compactor)
Operate all equipment in a safe and productive manner, and only after being properly task trained and receiving a signed 5000-23 certificate of training for each piece of equipment to be operated.
Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.
Plans details of working procedure and tools/materials requirements.
Make note of any variation from the norm when carrying out any task and reporting to the Foreman during or at the end of shift
Complete an accurate shift report for work activities, when required.
Carry out the duties in line with site standards and relevant legislation.
In addition to pre-start checks, perform periodic checks on the machine, and if required, carry out small repairs and solve problems in line with the training received.
Work with the maintenance team to ensure that any machines under their control are serviced and maintained in proper working order.
Report hazards and risks in a timely manner and correct them immediately, if possible
Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
Maintain accurate logs and records.
Service and clean equipment as needed and in accordance with best practice operating procedures.
Assist with crusher and plant maintenance and operation.
Perform routine pre- and post-inspections to ensure proper performance of equipment.
Maintain necessary equipment logs and inform supervisor of deficiencies in a timely fashion.
Operate equipment according to specifications and in alignment with designated safety standards, reporting violations to field supervision.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Class B CDL, with tanker endorsement essential
Working knowledge regarding the operation, safety, and maintenance of equipment in use.
Ability to safely operate equipment in the presence of field crew members and utilities, ensuring the safety of all persons, equipment, property, and utilities in the area.
Some technical training or background is a positive
Experience in mining or process plants will be considered a positive
Problem solving skills to identify, understand and solve basic equipment malfunctions or failure modes.
All employees will be expected to perform manual labor on an as-needed basis.
MSHA training is a positive
Crusher experience is a positive.
Schedule:
The Surface Support Equipment Operator position is currently 7 on 7 off rotation schedule consisting of 12-hour workdays.
Compensation:
Base pay starts at $35 per hour and is scaled in accordance with experience and qualifications.
