NATURE OF THE WORK:
Under close supervision of the Parks & Recreation Superintendent & Aquatics Manger will perform professional duties to ensure the proper operation of the facility and supervise all aquatic center staff when manager is not present.
Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, supervising and appraising LAC staff.
Ensures the safety of the patrons in and around the pools, monitoring swimmers and guests, and enforcing all safety rules and health regulations, supervise cashiers, and maintenance/custodial staff.
Will act as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the Parks & Recreation Superintendent or Pool Manager.
There are 5 assistant managers for the Aquatics center 1 each for the following areas; Cashier & Concessions, LG Safety, Maintenance & Custodial, Scheduling & Office, WSI Programs.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Assist in hiring aquatic facility personnel,
Establishing policies, procedures, and safety rules for the personnel and the public.
Directly supervises all aquatic center
Responsible for the operation of the aquatic facility, including pool maintenance and cleaning, water chemistry testing, chemical adjustments, and
Performs regular chemical checks and updates and prepares daily
Schedules staff to include Head Guards, Lifeguards, and other staff as needed; ensures that swimmers are well supervised in the pool and on
Assists to orient new Head Guards and Lifeguards to job duties and responsibilities.
Ensure that all staff is current on training and
Assist the Pool Manager in scheduling, coordinating, and conducting in-service
Ensures that lifeguards are competent in first-aid, CPR, and water rescue
Ensure that all LAC staff perform in accordance with established safety regulations and policies; Inventories and recognizes when supplies or equipment need to be ordered and communicates the needs to the LAC
Interfaces with patrons regarding concerns, problems, or any other significant issues; provides input and feedback while responding to problems.
Ensures that aquatic programs are occurring as desired and assists with the overall management of swimming
Performs lifeguard responsibilities including monitoring pool activities, applying first aid, and performing water rescues as necessary.

Vacuum and sweep pools and prepare facility for opening/closing, clean and sanitize restrooms, lifeguard rooms, offices, and surrounding
Ensures that aquatic programs are occurring as desired and assists with the overall management of swimming events.
Performs any other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Must be at least 17/18 years old depending upon position
High school graduate or equivalent, college student or graduate preferred
Minimum of 2-3 years of paid supervisory experience in an aquatic
Possess or ability to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification, CPR for the Professional
Rescuer and First Aid, and a food handler
Prefer American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification, Water Safety Instructor
Ability to work mornings, midday, evenings, weekends, and holiday As well as April- September.
Pay Range: $15.
43 - $18.
74/Hr DOE
