Position Overview:
Summit Line Construction is seeking a Project Controller.
This position will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring financial and accounting activities for regional construction projects.
This position can sit out of either our Provo, UT office or Las Vegas, NV.
What You'll Do:
Responsibilities:
Job Setup
Review project budget and deadlines with project manager
Help set up WBS Structure with Project Manager and in coordination with Quanta corporate Major Projects structure.
Lead monthly job review meeting with Project Managers, Division Manager, and Corporate Accounting
Lead forecasting efforts together with the Construction Manager and Project Managers input.
Manage all inputs into Quanta’s financial management system – Ecosys.
Includes weekly entry of quantities completed each week.
Verify weekly costs posted are accurate and cost coded correctly.
Oversee auditing of project financials when necessary
Help track change orders and open up cost codes as needed.
Post change orders as approved and received, updating WBS and financial tracking system.
Prepare monthly revenue forecasting and provide corporate with variance from forecast analysis
Monitor Accounts Receivable Aging reports, DSO, and Retainage Receivables
Understands financial reporting - including the upstream effects of reporting to other areas of the organization
Provide project cost trend analysis of actual versus potential cost, review financial commitments incurred to predict future revenues and expenses to help identify budget over-runs and cost savings initiatives
Provides support to Operations to help develop RFQ/RFI submittals relating to projects or financial data
Assists with the development and tracking of key performance metrics
Reviews all project and estimate cash flows, contract terms, and change orders in detail for financial risks and opportunities
Ensure effective financial controls are maintained
Maintain and implement periodic reviews of projects and accounting controls for SOX compliance
Assisting the vice president, construction, to prepare cash flows, budgets, projections etc.
Monitors results of new processes, trouble-shoots failures and issues, and presents solutions to unsolicited problems
Interacting with the general contractor or the construction manager for managing objectives, goals and the performance of team members.
What You'll Bring:
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3-5 years of related experience
Project Accounting experience highly preferred
Equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite with strong Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent Written and oral communication
Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s)
