Employment Opportunity
This is a full-time, benefited position working under the direction of the Water Reclamation EI;C Field Supervisor.
This is a technical position that assists in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and calibration of instrumentation, controls, motors, electrical switch gear, MCC and other electrical equipment, pumps and miscellaneous electronic and electrical equipment throughout the City.
Orders and maintains spare parts.
Provides written reports and calibration results as needed.
Installs electrical and electronic apparatus, runs conduit and makes necessary repairs.
Performs duties that may include bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, walking, crawling into manholes or trenches, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
Frequently lifts equipment and tools weighing as much as 50 pounds and occasionally as much as 100 pounds.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requires an Associate s Degree in the instrumentation and control field with a minimum of two years of experience or training in electricity, motors and motor control, electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Additional experience may be substituted for education.
A Journeyman Electrician License is preferred.
Knowledge of water and wastewater systems controls, instrumentation, general electrical and lighting systems, standby generator backup power systems, boiler control systems, and telemetering systems.
Considerable knowledge of instrumentation systems and calibrations of meters, charts, flow meters, ultra-sonic meters, and flume functions.
Considerable knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), other electronic controllers such as timers and flow-appropriate actuators and equipment, and wireless data transmission equipment.
Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring, and logic control diagrams.
Knowledge of confined space requirements and other related OSHA regulations.
Must possess and maintain a valid Utah driver s license.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Pay and Benefits
The current salary range for Public Works Program Manager begins at $30.
46 hourly ($63,357.
55 annually) and is in a hybrid step/career-ladder pay program that allows for automatic raises on the anniversary of an employee's hire/position date (step) and career advancement based on meeting certain requirements (career ladder).
Individual starting salary will depend on qualifications, certifications, and experience.
