JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking a motivated and experienced Fleet Safety Manager to join our dynamic team.
As the Fleet Safety Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of vehicles and equipment.
Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs to protect our employees, equipment, and the communities we serve.

RESPONSIBILITIES Safety Program Development: Design and implement fleet safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to create a proactive safety culture and promote a safe working environment.
Camera Monitoring: Monitoring video footage of AERM’s commercial drivers and maintaining proper records of coaching sessions.
Compliance and Regulation: Stay up to date with federal, state, and local transportation regulations, ensuring that the fleet operations are fully compliant at all times.
Driver Training and Education: Work with our Training Manager to conduct comprehensive driver training programs, including defensive driving techniques, to enhance safe driving practices and minimize accidents.
Accident Investigation: Lead accident and incident investigations to determine root causes, identify trends, and develop strategies for prevention.
Data Analysis: Analyze safety data, including telematics, incident reports, and other metrics, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Safety Meetings: Organize and conduct safety meetings for drivers and other personnel to disseminate safety-related information and facilitate open communication.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor safety performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices to drive continuous safety enhancement across the fleet.
Safety Culture Promotion: Encourage and support a safety-first culture among all employees by promoting awareness and recognizing safety achievements.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Transportation Management, or a related field (equivalent work experience will be considered).
Proven experience (5+ years) in fleet safety management, preferably in the construction materials industry or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations and safety standards (e.
g.
, DOT, FMCSA, etc.
).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret safety data and develop effective strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and collaborate with drivers and employees at all levels.
Demonstrated leadership ability, including experience in leading safety initiatives, and fostering a safety-conscious culture.
Familiarity with telematics and fleet management software is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally to various company locations.
