POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Quality Engineer, you will be a critical part of Lion Energy’s next generation of Energy Storage and Portable Power products.
From research and design to implementation, you will be on the front lines of product development and carry responsibilities for the quality of our products.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Design and implement programs, policies, and practices that ensure all departments and business units comply with federal, state, local, and international quality regulations
Review test requirements and procedures from a quality standpoint
Work in cross-functional capacity with various teams to deliver key performance metrics
Interfaces with the Regulatory Engineer to ensure consistency and alignment
Works closely with Engineering teams to maintain up-to-date listings when changes (ECOs) to design, critical components, or processes impact our listings.
Assists in coordinating electrical product safety testing, listing, and maintenance to applicable domestic and international standards to obtain and maintain market access.
Help establish and manage the relationship with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure quality is maintained, from prototyping to volume production
Maintains non-conforming goods and disposition management through MRB, corrective/preventative actions, customer complaints, audits for compliance and quality; internal quality reviews, contract manufacturers, and various third-party agencies
Owns the containment process and any potential escapes and is accountable for close actions that ensure issues cannot reoccur.
Own KPIs that describe the quality performance of the products across all supplier manufacturing
Prepare monthly reports on customer complaint data and trending issues
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of professional experience in quality engineering or a related role
Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or its equivalent in experience
Experience with Portable Power, Solar, and Energy Storage Systems a plus
Electrical/Electronic knowledge desired
Familiarity and assistance with the various environmental compliance regulations
Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 QMS or similar program
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, as well as document management systems such as SharePoint, Jira, and Confluence
Working with contract manufacturers and OEMs
Knowledge of OSHA Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories
Experience conducting internal and supplier quality audits
Familiar with RMA, NCR, SCAR, and CAPA quality processes for continuous improvement
Experience with Hazardous Materials Class 9 (lithium batteries) Dangerous Goods transportation requirements preferred
Excellent oral and written tactful business interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and follow up on multiple projects simultaneously
Technical ability, knowledge, and research skills allowing data & research to drive decisions
Pro-active, initiative-taker with strong organizational and time-management skills
Overall knowledge of Lion Products is a plus
