Mission Statement Jacobs provides field, range, testing, chemical, and biological laboratory support to the U.
S.
Army at the West Desert Test Center (WDTC) located at Dugway Proving Ground (DPG), UT.
As a major test site for the U.
S.
Army Test and Evaluation Command, the WDTC is responsible for the test and evaluation of chemical and biological (CB) defense systems, incendiary and smoke/obscuration munitions systems, and related operational concepts.
In addition to these responsibilities, we also support non-CB testing at the WDTC for the DOD and other Federal agencies, including environmental assessment/impact evaluation and munitions demilitarization.
Our Dugway Operation was established in 2004 with the award of the Field, Range, Chamber, and Laboratory Support Services (FRC&LSS) contract to Jacobs.
Through the FRC&LSS contract, we have integrated with Mellor Engineering, TOPE, and JRAD with a composite staff size of more than 170 personnel.
Job Description Performs professional engineering work in the preparation or assist in the preparation of civil, structural, mechanical, and architectural designs, drawings, and specifications for construction, alterations, renovations, additions, and rehabilitation projects for West Desert Test Center (WDTC), roads/taxiways, new facilities, and infrastructure upgrades to include office buildings, laboratories, production facilities, storage facilities, utilities, test fixtures/chambers, and target systems.
Projects may involve extensive research or broad application of engineering principles.
The chosen candidate will interface with WDTC customers in the development of project requirements, scope, engineering work requests, engineering/design drawings, and other documents associated with the development of the project.
The candidate may be required to perform inspections on existing facilities and identify areas of concern with HVAC systems, electrical systems, structural integrity, and all general purposes of the facility.
Here’s what you’ll need: Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Planning or Construction Management or Engineering Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Two years of responsible facility planning and construction project management experience.
Knowledge of: Construction management principles; Facility planning principles; Architectural and engineering principles, practices, and procedures: Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes; Negotiation techniques, Construction design standards; Budgeting principles: Contract Management Principles: and Advanced project management principles.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications MELLOR is looking for a candidate with experience and able to perform various types of tasks, including but not limited to: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, A background or knowledge in Facility Management/Construction Strong written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of Topographic survey Experience with general computer tasks and fluency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook) CAD software preferably AUTO CAD/SOLIDWORKS/CREO Self-starter, resourceful person able to work independently or in a team environment Ability and Desire to learn new skills Must be able to read and understand construction plans and specifications Ability to research and identify what code/regulations applies to the project Able to generate project cost estimates Required Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Attendance Regular hours will be between Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.
m.
– 5:30 p.
m.
Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.
