Summary: Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs mechanical maintenance work requiring detailed and well-rounded knowledge of specialized mechanical techniques.
Inspects, evaluates, and performs mechanical repair for faulty equipment.
Performs preventative maintenance on plant systems and equipment to ensure proper operation, maintenance, and lubrication; may be required to maintain inventory supplies of oil and grease used for lubrication; complies with all applicable safety policies and regulations.
What you'll be contributing: Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Provides production support in the form of specialized mechanical repair to equipment and machinery.
Performs welding, millwrighting, pipe fitting, fabrication, rigging, plumbing, mechanical work, and related maintenance and repair as needed for production machinery and equipment including conveyors, gearboxes, air cylinders, air slides, pumps, water lines, valves, compressors, crusher, raw mill, finish mill, kiln, silos, etc.
Performs structural and steel erection and installation for beams, platforms, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
Performs equipment alignment, vibration analysis, and fan balancing to prevent equipment malfunctions.
Maintains machine shop cleanliness and performs job cleanup.
Prepares required documentation regarding repairs completed as assigned.
Provides vacation relief coverage for Lubrication Specialists and Maintenance Supervisors.
Performs preventative maintenance work on plant equipment and machinery.
Inspects equipment for proper operation and lubrication; wear, damage, unusual noise, vibration, and higher than normal temperatures.
Documents repairs needed and writes orders, as well as making repairs and adjustments to ensure correct operation.
Helps monitor inventory levels of oil, grease, and other lubricants; ordering lubricants when needed to maintain an adequate supply for equipment needs.
Prepares required documentation regarding lubrication schedules and activities as needed.
Assists in the operation and maintenance of plant liquid cooling system.
Performs general housekeeping duties and job cleanup and ensures disposal of oil and greases.

To succeed in this position, you will need: Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
High school graduation or equivalent plus associate's degree or equivalent in technical areas of mechanical repair and maintenance preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience preferred in a similar or related industrial facility, plus additional technical training with emphasis on lubrication preferred.
Has a working knowledge of refractories, steel specifications, welding, hydraulics, rigging, fabrication, cutting torch basics, soldering, millwrighting, mechanics, plumbing, machine shop equipment, torque wrenches, and related mechanical maintenance functions.
The ability to operate mobile equipment such as a forklift, loader, mobile crane, various kinds of trucks, man lifts, bobcats, and related equipment is required.
The ability to install various types of equipment and machinery in the plant, and read blueprints, drawings, and diagrams for mechanical maintenance and repairs is required.
Interpret and follow instructional and maintenance manuals and demonstrate skills in basic mathematics required.
Skills needed include communication and problem-solving skills.
Work requires walking, climbing ladders and stairs, bending, pushing, pulling, working in awkward positions, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds; must be able to work in high places (up to 215 feet high).
What to expect in a cement environment: Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant.
Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures.
Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height.
Exposure to all weather conditions.
Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
