PRIMARY PURPOSE
This position is directly responsible for leading the entire Maintenance Department and has accountability for insuring that all plant areas and equipment are maintained and operated in an efficient, safe and reliable manner.
The Maintenance Manager establishes department goals, provides direction, guidance and development opportunities for all the maintenance employees.
This position partners with Operations leadership to ensure safe, predictable manufacturing processes and reliably achieving operational excellence.
The successful candidate will assist in development of overall organizational strategies, standards and practices, and strategic initiatives to achieve excellence.
This position reports to the Plant Leader and is a member of the plant leadership team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Living the safety stand and ensuring safe maintenance works Leads comprehensive and strict execution for safe maintenance work in accordance to OC standards Partners with cross-functional teams to implement various safety programs at the plant Prioritizes and executes EHS hazard elimination in daily RWP (Reliability Work Process) management Ensures a clear and effective measurement system is followed and used to drive results; rewards and celebrates safe behavior and achievements; ensures accountability to achieve a zero injury culture Demonstrate compliance with a personal safety action plan Adhere to Owens Corning safety policies at all times Leading, Developing and Executing Maintenance Strategies Serves as full owner of maintenance strategy ensuring it aligns with the business strategy and operation plans to deliver overall operational excellence Prepares capital budget forecasts, plans, scope and cost estimates for plant improvements; effectively manages all capital projects/installations and delivers committed results in a timely and cost effective manner Establishes and leads the development of Reliability Work Process; oversees installation, repair and routine maintenance of plant equipment driving toward RWP system Drives continuous improvement effort where every operational/maintenance loss is considered unacceptable; root cause is determined and permanent countermeasures are implemented Sets clear and measurable expectations, in line with plant goals; proactively analyzing all relative performance metrics; effectively communicating results Actively participates to maintain zero environmental non-conformities to applicable company, government and regulatory policies Maintains budget (labor, contractor, repair & replacement) and inventory of spare parts in a fiscally responsible manner Optimizes energy balance and utility usage and partners with Technical leader to deploy plant-wide energy savings plan TPM Lead the PM Pillar for the Nephi plant, and support other pillar functions Developing TPM Standards in Maintenance and supporting across the plant/division Proactive approach; the goal should be problem-prevention, instead of problem-solving Elevate the plant-wide proficiency and utilization of the right processes and toolsets to solidify the Lean & TPM culture Effectively mentor teams and individuals at all levels of the organization around TPM principles and processes Directing Operations Designs and implements effective Asset Maintenance Strategy to sustain and enhance plant facility reliability; ensures that Asset Maintenance Strategy reflects the equipment and system changeover, aging and modifications Reviews the daily RWP (Reliability Work Process) process to prioritize the operations and maintenance tasks and ensure timely and efficient support to other functions Secures emergency system and utility readiness through internal and external communications, drills and regular overhauls and loaded test for applicative equipment Leading and Developing Talent Ensures maintenance employees are well trained and current on any required certifications to perform the full scope of their job expectations Establishes clear and measurable performance expectations and holds team members accountable for delivering the goals Regularly evaluates the strengths and development opportunities of the team, as well as invests in the growth and development of team members to achieve sustained success Effectively staffs the team by leveraging the appropriate mix of internal and external talent to satisfy both near-term performance and long-term succession needs Leading across the plant/division Drives alignment between plant departments Shares best practices across plants, challenges thinking and provides candid and respectful feedback; sets an example for the organization of how teamwork and partnerships should look Seen as a strong leader across the plant, driving engagement and supporting cross-functional projects and teams Is a leader amongst peers across sister plants Assists the plant leader with other duties as required Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree Required (Engineering or related field) Industrial Mechanical and Electrical background, with a minimum of 3 years leadership responsibilities EXPERIENCE Experience of successfully developing, leading and executing reliability centered maintenance processes A proven track record of driving results by engaging others Controls and Automation experience preferred Previous experience/proficiency with navigating maintenance management systems (i.
e.
