DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the Development Services Director, performs a variety of administrative and technical duties as needed to plan, organize, direct and coordinate construction inspection.
Serves as the Chief Building Official in controlling the inspection of city residential and commercial structures for adherence to applicable building codes.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduation from high school, plus two (2) years of specialized training in building methods and practices related to commercial, industrial, and residential structures provided through technical college, professional workshops or university studies; and Experience: Must have a minimum of six years inspection experience in building code enforcement as a building official, inspector, plans examiner, or comparable private sector position.
Three years experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Licenses/Certifications: A valid State of Utah Driver's License.

Certified in all areas of inspection specialization (plan review, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, building or combination dwelling).
Must maintain continuing education to maintain license.
Special Qualifications: Must pass a criminal history background investigation.
SALARY: $31.
32 to $40.
71 per hour depending on experience.
SCHEDULE: 40+ hours per week.
M-TH, 7:30 a.

to 6:00 p.
m.
May occasionally work on Fridays to perform inspections to accommodate contractor's/developer's schedules.
