We’re searching for an experienced Fill Prep Operator to support our production team and reinforce our reputation as a leader in manufacturing nutraceutical products.
Time: 40 hours/week
Employment Type: Full-time (Non-Exempt)
SHIFT: 4:30PM -3am Monday – Thursday with occasional Friday’s and Saturday’s as needed.
Start Date: ASAP
Primary Purpose:
The Fill Prep Operator is responsible for the preparation (mixing etc.
) of quality fill in accordance with the customer specifications with the correct viscosity, color and formula and deliver fill to the Capsule Machine Room.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate operational issues from both previous and current shifts.
Prepare fill according to procedures in effect.
Measures and weighs, by manual and computerized scales, gelatin and dyes used in fill batches.
Processes fill batches and color conversion per applicable SOP and batch record instructions.
Adjust viscosity and color according to specifications.
Stage/Deliver fill to the Technophar Rooms with the correct viscosity, color and formula.
Pre-stage the fill equipment for color changes.
Collaborate with team members to prepare for color changes.
Maintain feed (Melter) tank for fill receivers.
Washes, inspects, and sanitizes receivers, mixers, and equipment.
Perform appropriate minor preventative maintenance (PMs) as required.
Label and ID all clean equipment according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
Label and ID gel Receivers with appropriate information, and correct allergen if any.
Enter data into the company’s computer software systems.
Perform computer transactions associated with material used in the batching process.
Complete documentation in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Read and perform job tasks according to SOP’s.
Operate both electrical and pneumatic control equipment.
Assist in maintaining the Mixing (Fill Prep) room supplies such as pre-mixes (dyes), and housekeeping supplies.
Assist with additional projects as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
Previous manufacturing experience and work in a GMP regulated industry preferred.
Basic computer skills including Windows navigation and data entry.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Ability to read, interpret and execute written instructions.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, combine units of measure, and calculate fractions and decimals.
Ability to problem solve.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines under pressure.
Must be authorized to work in the United States (verified through E-Verify).
Working Conditions and Hazards:
Requires lifting SCAG drums up to 13 Kg.
(30 lbs.
) and Mixing (Gel Prep) equipment up to 22 Kg.
(50 lbs.
) utilizing the buddy system, if needed.
Pushing and pulling feed tanks weighing up to 243 Kg.
(535 lbs.
).
Prolonged standing on concrete floors.
Exposed to different levels of noise while working between Mixing (Gel Prep) and the Capsule Manufacturing area.
While in the Mixing (Gel Prep) Washroom area, exposed to standing in water, along with heat and steam.
Exposed to oils, alcohol, scalding water, dyes, and cleaning solvents.
Exposed to operating electrical and pneumatic control equipment and pressurized air lines.
