COMPENSATION:
Hourly Rate: $33.
37 / HR
SUMMARY:
This is a skilled position involving the training of Ready-Mix Mixer Drivers for the safe and efficient operation of ready-mix trucks.
Deliveries will be made in both industrial and residential areas, per instruction of the Batch Plant Supervisor.
Delivery and shift schedules will be directed and scheduled by DISPATCH (including plant locations as work schedules demand).
The driver is responsible for the efficient working conditions and cleanliness of equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
When not mentoring another driver, the mentor will work as a Ready-Mix Driver.
Drivers will be expected to assist in maintaining a clean and safe working environment in and around the batch plant as per supervisor’s instruction.
When working with coworkers employed as Material Spotters/Dump Men, constant eye contact will be maintained with this person when backing, communicating using hand signals, or other movements.
If whereabouts of Material Spotters/Dump Men is unknown, vehicle is to be stopped until this person is located.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The Driver Mentor MUST have a minimum of 5-years of Ready-Mix Driving Experience.
Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Must have good interpersonal and relationship skills.
Ability to be a team player and role model for the company and its mission.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and appropriately represent the company.
Basic understanding of quality control.
Willingness to follow company policies and procedures.
Thorough operational knowledge and skills of mixer truck and related equipment to be operated.
Ability to keep time and material records.
Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
Understanding of and willingness to comply with company policies and procedures.
Driver must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system and use the truck tracking system correctly & efficiently.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and appropriately represent the Company.
The driver must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) - Class A or B.
Ability to be a team player and role model for the company and its mission.
WORK HOURS (average):
10+ Hours Per Day, 4-6 Days Per Week, Seasonal
MISCELLANEOUS :
May assist other personnel when there is no need for concrete delivery, plant labor and maintenance.
Travel will vary from interstate highway to rural dirt roads.
