Principle Duties
The Journey HVAC Specialist is responsible for:
The operation and maintenance of a complex heating and air conditioning system in a large building or group of buildings.
Operate and maintain complex heating and air conditioning systems.
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, make adjustments, repairs and/or performs preventative maintenance.
Evacuate and recharge air conditioning systems.
Perform building automation/energy management system maintenance, as needed.
Will have knowledge with record reading blueprints building codes, measuring instruments
Diagnosing causes of equipment breakdowns, testing parts with appropriate instruments, disassembling and assembling parts, and making necessary repairs
The Ideal Candidate:
Must be licensed as Journey HVAC
Must have HVACR Certification and the EPA Certification at the Universal Level
Preference will be given to individuals with the RMGA Certification.
Must be willing to be on-call with 24-hour availability

The Agency/Division
This position is located at the Utah State Hospital situated on a beautiful campus at the base of the Wasatch Mountains in Provo a centrally located community.
Example of Duties
Installs parts, equipment, lines, hardware or software, etc.
; troubleshoots and makes adjustments to optimize initial performance.
Evacuates and recharges air conditioning systems.
Performs related plumbing, mechanical, painting and pipe fitting, etc.

Welds, solders, brazes, grinds, and/or fabricates various materials.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, make adjustments, repairs and/or performs preventative maintenance on computers, vehicles, equipment, or machinery, etc.
Maintains accurate records and logs.
Typical Qualifications
(includes knowledge, skills, and abilities required upon entry into position and trainable after entry into position)
must be HVACR Certified (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration)
must be EPA Certified at the Universal Level
heating and air conditioning equipment operation and maintenance
installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment
welding methods and techniques
read and interpret charts, plans, blueprints and/or electrical schematics
follow written and/or oral instructions
communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing
