Essential Responsibilities
Installation, modification and repair of automated industrial control equipment
Strong understanding of software utilized within programmable logic control (PLC) systems
Design, plan, install and maintain industrial control equipment and instrumentation such as loop controller, variable frequency drives, solid state reduced voltage starters, level controls, ethernet motor controls centers, belt scales, and control panels
Thorough understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
Must be available to work off shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
Assists in routine planned maintenance and emergency repairs of plant equipment including conveyors, bucket elevators, and washing/drying equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical equipment, PLC’s and ladder diagrams, AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors and switches, motor controls and , safety circuits
Install, troubleshoot and repair electric motors and equipment (120, 240 and 480V)
Knowledge of basic hand tools and machine shop equipment, the proper use of all electrical test equipment used to perform electrical/electronic repairs of production equipment
Complete preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and document finished work
Contact vendors to source replacement components for all electrical/electronic equipment
May drive a pick-up truck or maintenance vehicle in the plant and/or to pick-up parts from local vendors

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associates degree preferred
Journeyman Electrician License preferred
Four years combined schooling and industrial experience required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong machine electrical background
I/O knowledge (hardwired/discrete, digital/ethernet, and analog) and the ability to read electrical schematics
Proven PLC troubleshooting experience - Allen Bradley RS 5000 a must, with networking (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.
) experience desired.
PLC background writing, debugging, developing and troubleshooting PLC’s desired
Proven HMI Programming experience preferred (Wonderware)
Computer skills - Windows environment, loading and setup of various software platforms desired
Must be able to work in adverse working conditions such as heat, wet, cold, noise, etc.
Must be willing to work overtime when required
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems
Ability to read prints including mechanical and electrical prints
Possess excellent analytical skills, data interpretation
Knowledge of safety practices such as MSHA, lockout/tagout, NFPA 70E and proper use of PPE
Strong communication skills
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty
Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs
Safety-sensitivity position
Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, stoop, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
Ability to operate hand controls with both hands
Ability to operate mobile equipment, foot pedals with both feet
Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching
Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather
Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels
Ability to work in cramped quarters
Lift objects of various dimensions and weights
Lift up to 50 pounds, carry up to 150 feet
Ability to tolerate working at heights up to 150 feet
Vision: normal depth perception, vision and ability to distinguish color
All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
