Job Summary
Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the plant and production equipment, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
Train and mentor, I/E Technician I if needed.
Assist in the design, installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of field automation systems, SCADA equipment and communications systems.
Typical equipment includes PLCs, Roc 800-s, RTUs, and digital/analog end devices.
Understanding of all power ranges from millivolts to 4160 volts.
Must be self-motivated and be able to work with little or no direct supervision.
Will be responsible for responding to call-outs and will be expected to participate in an Call-Out schedule.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Consider SAFETY as the primary responsibility in all operations
Aid Technical and Operations Supervisors in coordinating I & E maintenance activities for facility repair, installation, and modifications.
Work with Operations to maintain 98% runtime at facilities
Ensure installations adhere to corporate policies, procedures, applicable codes and regulations
Manage technical projects at the field level and coordinate material and resources
Perform installation, problem diagnosis, fault analysis and repair of computerized control systems relative to the following:
Metering (volumetric and mass measurement) and control devices
Control systems (PLC, Relay Logic, DCS, etc.
)
Read and draw basic electrical schematics
Basic knowledge of local area network
MODBUS Over I/P
Component level repairs to electronics circuits
Motor operated valves
Medium Voltage Switch Gear and Power Handling Equipment
Electronic tank gauging systems
Operations computer hardware and associated equipment
Supervise and/or repair electrical problems on pipeline equipment, generators, CDP’s, water injection pumps, compressor stations, LACTs
Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis, implement preventative/predictive maintenance.
Ensure all safety system testing is completed and documented
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties and projects assigned as necessary
Participate in all Caerus required safety training
Supervisor Duties
Must be able to provide supervision to smaller contract crews
Qualifications
Education
Accredited one or two-year technical diploma meeting the requirements of a professional technical designation or high school diploma with a minimum of 10+ years progressive and related experience
Journeyman license preferred
Skills & Abilities
Thorough knowledge of pipeline systems and surface equipment, including tanks, valves, positive displacement and centrifugal pumps, electric motors, gas engines, and other pertinent equipment.
Strong understanding of pipeline transportation system operations.
Sound knowledge of PSMA, API, NEC and OSHA codes and standards with an ability to apply that knowledge to pipeline projects.
Strong computer skills (MS Office suite).
Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.
Strong, team oriented interpersonal communication.
Supervisory, analytical and project management skills.
Programmable logic controller / Distributed control system (PLC/DCS) troubleshooting/programming experience preferred.
Local Control Network experience.
Will be subject to Caerus Oil and Gas drug testing policies
Must have a valid driver’s license
Industry Experience
10+ years relevant Instrumentation & Electrical technical experience in the oil and gas industry
Programmable logic controller / Distributed control system (PLC/DCS) troubleshooting/programming experience preferred
Working conditions
Schedule: 4 days per week/ 10 hours per day.
5 Days per week if needed
Must be able to work Call-Out schedule including, nights, weekends and holidays
Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions
